Dr. Joseph Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Joseph Nguyen is a long time resident of Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Biology and went on to pursue a doctorate in optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Nguyen gained extensive knowledge in primary eye care and optometry management through his internships with Loma Linda University Department of Ophthalmology and Whittier Vision Center – especially extensive diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, as well as cataract post-operative care. Dr. Nguyen is a certified therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist.

Aside from diagnosis of ocular diseases, primary eye care, vision training and corneal postoperative care, Dr. Nguyen also focuses on practice management. He also conducts clinical research in optometry as an additional contribution to the scientific community.

In 1995, Dr. Nguyen opened his first Eyecare Leaders (originally Eyecare Masters) location on Fuqua Street in Houston, TX. His vision was to offer patients the highest quality vision care though a traditional family style practice.

Within the local community, Dr. Nguyen was elected president of the Vietnamese Community of Houston from 2004-2006. Dr. Nguyen continues to be passionate about providing the best optometric services and quality, personalized care for his patients.
